In-House Lab & Veterinary Pharmacy in Denver

Our Diagnostic Services
Our in-house veterinary diagnostics lab allows us to offer various types of advanced diagnostic testing so that our Denver vets are able to give you the most accurate results and treatment options available. Some of the diagnostic services we offer are:
- Radiography (Digital X-rays)
Using radiography we are able to examine your pet's internal systems to see internal areas of your pet's body and diagnose issues that may be invisible from the outside.
Radiography uses only low-dose radiations and is entirely safe for your pet. The level of radiation is low enough that this procedure is safe for use with pregnant females and very young pets.
X-rays can be used to examine your pet's bones and organs, as well as diagnose a multitude of conditions including broken bones, chronic arthritis, bladder stones, spinal cord diseases, and even some tumors.
- Ultrasound
Our veterinarians may find situations in which ultrasounds are necessary to create extremely detailed images of your pet's internal structures.
When ultrasound imaging is used our vets expose part of the body to high-frequency sound waves to produce images of the inside of the body.
These images are captured in real-time which allows our vets to see every detail of your pet's internal organs, as well as blood flowing through the blood vessels.
Having the use of ultrasound equipment allows quick diagnosis so that your vet can create a treatment plan quickly.
- Bloodwork
Our vets in Denver are able to run a variety of blood tests in order to gain insight into the overall health of your pet and to diagnose illness.
Using our lab we have the ability to perform common blood tests such as CBC (complete blood count), white blood count, hemoglobin and MCHC (mean corpuscular hemoglobin concentration), hematocrit, platelets, eosinophils, and blood serum profile.
- Urinalysis
Urinalysis is one of the most common and most important diagnostic tests we utilize. Performing urinalysis provides your vet with essential insights into the physical and chemical properties of your pet's urine.
While the main reason your vet may use urinalysis would be to assess the overall health of your animal's kidneys and urinary tract system, urinalysis can also be used to diagnose other issues in other organ systems as well as metabolic diseases such as diabetes.

- Fecal Exams

Fecal exams are the quickest way for your vet to verify if your pet has intestinal parasites such as roundworms or hookworms.
Parasites can be detrimental to your pet's health and it is possible for these parasites to be transmitted to any other animals or humans in your household.
A fecal exam is the only way for your vet to diagnose parasites in your pet as these parasites typically live in your pet’s gastrointestinal tract, where they can't be seen. A microscopic fecal exam is the only way to be able to see these pests.
Your vet will recommend that fecal exams be done yearly to help ensure the overall health of your pet.
- Digital Dental X-Rays
Your pet may be suffering from periodontal disease, typically the effects from this oral disease happen below the gum line and can't be easily seen. Our Denver veterinarians use digital dental X-Rays to help assess your pet's oral health.
Digital X-Rays are safe for your pet and they allow our team of veterinarians to examine the roots, bones and internal anatomy of your cat or dog's teeth.
Digital X-rays carry a very low risk compared to older x-ray technology allowing our vets to safely see below the surface of your pet's gum line to fully evaluate each tooth.
